2016

Saturday, September 24
7:30 p.m.

“Writing Out Loud Author Series” with Shane Gericke. Every Saturday evening in the fall, the fine folks at the Michigan City (Indiana) Public Library select an author to interview live for a roomful of book lovers in their Helmut Jahn-designed showcase of books. September 24, it’s my turn. I had to cancel last year’s appearance because literally that morning I had emergency gall bladder removal–pity the poor organizer who got my call from the emergency room at 4 that morning!–but my ol’ body is fit as a fiddle now and I can hang out with the good folks in Michigan City. Saturday, November 5
9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“Murder and Mayhem in Milwaukee” is a can’t-miss single-day crime fiction festival. Readers can meet, greet and listen to stories from dozens of terrific crime writers. I’m not on stage this year, but am attending because I’m a crime-writin’ fanboy. Details and author lineup: http://www.murdermayhemmilwaukee.com

2017

Tuesday, July 11 to Saturday, July 15
All days and nights

Thrillerfest. A single word with so much meaning. This is world’s biggest and best conference for writers of thriller novels and the people who love them. I’m proud to be a founding organizer who worked the inaugural Thrillerfest in Phoenix, AZ, in 2006. Since then, we’ve moved to our permanent home at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in New York City, the home of American publishing. This year’s ThrillerMaster, the single highest honor a thriller writer can receive, is Lee Child, he of the Jack Reacher series and one of the nicest and most helpful people you’ll meet in this business.
